The quiet Bloomsbury venue of the Art Workers Guild, a welcoming home for UK astrology over many decades, is the atmospheric setting for these important seminars on the practice of astrology. They are geared to the interests of students and practitioners with a good working background in astrology. The Saturday sessions with Pat Blackett and Graeme Tobyn go straight into chart interpretation using basic 'Locating Significance' principles, the core of the COA approach to reading horoscopes. These sessons demonstrate the application of the method in natal and other forms, and will show how to interpret context in bringing the horoscope to life. The Saturday sessions will also serve as revision for intermediate students who wish to strengthen their practical craft.

The Sunday sessions with Geoffrey Cornelius show how theory and practice relate, and illustrate current thinking being developed at the COA on the nature of astrology. This involves the evolution of 'Locating Significance' into a threefold distinction of objective craft, context, and symbolic realisation. The distinction is rooted in the nature of omens, oracles and divination. It leads to an effective and comprehensive approach, which will be illustrated by analyses of real-life horoscopes and their interpretations.

Pat Blackett (Saturday) has a special interest in psychotherapy and myth as well as teaching Tarot.

Graeme Tobyn (Saturday) is a medical herbalist, senior lecturer in herbal medicine at UCLAN, and a leading authority in traditional medicine and astrology.

Geoffrey Cornelius (Sunday) is internationally known for his studies in the philosophy and practice of divination and astrology.

All three of our main presenters are tutors on the COA's Katarche Horary Correspondence Course, and all are experienced in working with clients.
